Many people don’t understand how debilitating arthritis can be. I feel the pain in all my joints, and not long ago my right knee completely locked up. I couldn’t bend it. It was impossible for me to cook a meal, do my laundry—do simple activities that most take for granted. I spent some time in the hospital, but it was when I was discharged and transferred to Triboro Center that I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The rehab team checked in with me every day, and—this is amazing—they even made my exercises enjoyable! My greatest joy, however, came when I walked out of the facility on my own, to the cheers of the staff. I’m back home now, cooking my own meals and doing my own laundry. What a great team they have at Triboro Center!
